Het Meisje met den Blauwen Hoed plot

Daantje Pieters is called up for military service and on his way to The Hague he meets a girl with a blue hat. But first Daantje has to report to the barracks and there he meets Toontje, an indifferent person who fools everyone. Toontje becomes Daantje's 'sleepy' and soon they go out together. During a visit to the Lou Bandy revue (in which Lou Bandy plays a double role as himself and as Daantje) they met the girl in the blue hat, Betsy. After a while the courtship starts between Daantje and Betsy. Between all the troubles in the service, Daantje often takes his new girlfriend with him, which will cost a lot of money in the long run. Daantje is happy with his girlfriend, but she lives generously (on his money). After a while, the couple in love gets engaged and Toontje will sometimes put a stop to this. With a lot of fanfare, there is gradually more and more disagreement between the couple and not without consequences...
