Heimkehr ins Glück plot

Shoe manufacturer Gruber (Paul Hörbiger) is unhappily married and overwrought. He seeks incognito the tranquility of his new hunting lodge in the Black Forest. Along the way, his luxury sports car curiously ends up in the hands of street artist Amadori (Heinz Rühmann), who is then mistaken for the manufacturer by the staff at the hunting lodge. Meanwhile, Gruber falls in love with Liesl (Luise Ullrich), the daughter of the shoemaker from whom he learned the trade. Now he has to get rid of his wife.
