A fun and chaotic comedy with an excellent cast led by Zoey Deutch as the naive title character who goes to Los Angeles in search of actor John Hamm to redeem her celebrity sex pass. A film set in an atmospheric environment, featuring fun characters and a weak plot, that is an absolute success as a comedy.
Gail's adventures are hectic. The hectic pace is caused by the jumpy and impulsive Gail, who is surrounded by an ever-expanding group of companions consisting of passers-by who stick around after entertaining interludes and join in the enthusiasm Gail displays. The film showcases a cheerful color palette that maneuvers itself into laughable situations and moves noisily through Hollywood.
The characters are deliberately portrayed in a clichéd manner, and that works well in this fast-paced, over-the-top comedy. It is a comedy consisting of puns and slapstick. The film is a series of absurd sketches. Do not expect highbrow or refined humor here. The humor is unrestrained, banal, exaggerated, and dumb. I really enjoyed it.
