Flat-packed René and wealthy acting tourist Kay meet in Paris, share a taxi and have dinner together. He adores her, but she soon travels back to London. René decides to follow her and unknowingly takes a job in her kitchen. This causes a riot, especially when Philip, who wants to marry Kay, wants to discharge René.
