Five Date Rule plot
Hattie Fisher, a contented, single children's author with her dog Utah and goldfish Fred, receives a dating app subscription for her birthday from her married friends Jill and Arya. Disastrous mismatches reinforce her conviction that being single is her destiny, until she meets the charming gardener Henry next door. Against the resistance of her meddling friends, who consider him beneath them, Henry organizes a dinner full of interrogations so they can judge him, while Hattie celebrates his humor and learns that you shouldn't judge a book by its cover.
