The story of the second film begins where DDT's once ended: in prison, where he was incarcerated for tax fraud. At that time, the Champions are busy preparing for their 25th anniversary. It promises to be a big party, but that could soon change with the return of DDT. When Xavier and Markske also decide to secretly bring back former trainer Oscar Crucke, who lives as a monk in a temple in Thailand, for the party… the dolls really start dancing.

After finally having processed the disaster of the first film, they decided to give their second film a chance after all. A film that is at the very least directed by one of Flanders' most famous directors, Jan Verheyen.
And yes, it is certainly better. But it is rarely genuinely funny, and almost everything had to come from Markske (Herman Verbruggen) again. The rest is lame and sometimes even just embarrassing. Most of them are simply too old for this, certainly to play football.
There are a number of nice references, including to Sergio Leone's style during the poker game between Balthazar and DDT. That was done quite nicely with the close-ups, and for the first fifteen minutes it looked like it was going to be a pretty good movie. Getting a straight flush at the same time as a royal flush is, of course, almost unheard of 
I don't think I've ever had one myself. A royal, that is. But then again, I haven't had a million different "hands" yet.
Unfortunately, the script isn't strong enough to hold your attention for the full 90 minutes. At the end, Carmen (Loes van den Heuvel) wants to prove she's a superstar à la Miley Cyrus, and it picks up right away with the momentum of the last few seasons (which is downright cringe-worthy, by the way). As a result, everyone pretty much continues where the series left off, with sausages that still don't taste good, Fernand still having 7 sick children in the clinic, Pol only being able to think about football, and Markske spouting nonsense for Radio Hallo (I actually found this quite a laugh).
The fact that they are still going to make a film is just for the money and maybe for the actors' pleasure too, but really, the best has been gone for years...

A fun, amusing movie comedy, nothing more to look for. But that is fine.
Healthy humor really does keep us going at times. It is a remedy against the encroaching bitterness.
The fact that the 'characters' have their own traits makes it relatable to many. Overacting is sometimes part of that. Who never exaggerates?
You can tell by some of the reactions that it is typically Belgian, but so be it. I enjoyed it.
It is, of course, not a masterpiece. Not a film that will conquer the world. That is not a problem either.
For me, it was a relaxing start to what will hopefully be a fascinating film year.

A very mediocre sequel to the first FCDK film. It never really comes across as funny. Almost all the jokes are quite predictable and clichéd, at times even bordering on politically correct.
Jacques Vermeire remains unsurpassed as DDT, but the return of Oscar, Carry Goossens, was anything but memorable. One should really look forward to Herman Verbruggen, who, as always, gives his best as Markske. The rest remains excruciatingly irritating, led by Carmen, more than ever...
