Dr. Alien plot

"She has the cure for growing pains!"

Wesley (Billy Jacoby) is not good at seducing women. That's all going to change, though, when he's taught by Ms. Xenobia (Judy Landers), who persuades him to take some vitamins. These vitamins make him irresistible to the women, but the vitamins have side effects: When Wesley gets aroused, an antenna grows out of his head. His success threatens to turn the woman he truly loves (Olivia Barash) into an alien. Then Wesley learns that Ms. Xenobia might have something to do with the fact that she's not from this Earth...

Like every DeCoteau I've seen so far, it's very low-budget. The idea of something alien growing out of Wesley's head reminded me a bit of Brain Damage.
There's also a lot of lame humor. That joke with the blind stick was rather silly, but they do manage to pull it off a bit better here and there. For example, the scene where Wesley introduces his parents to the members of his metal band is funny. The scene of the performance where there's obvious lip-synching is also funny.
Billy Jacoby (who also stars in Cujo) plays a rather standard character: a nerdy, bumbling guy who transforms into a tough guy. All the characters are pretty flat, by the way, but that's nothing new for DeCoteau. It's funny, though, that his brother in this film is played by his actual brother, credited here as Bobby Jacoby. He plays the younger counterpart to Wesley's character. He would later appear in Tremors, by the way.
Linnea Quigley also pops up briefly, but she has no lines (unless you count that lip-synced performance) and is really only in it to flash her breasts. She's not alone in this, by the way, as she's assisted by two other women who were willing to take off their clothes. This is now the fifth film by this director in which I've seen her take off her clothes. DeCoteau certainly had a preference back then.
Low-budget trash that, unfortunately for me, isn't "so bad it's good." I should have known, but I still want to try it again and again.

A really B movie with a weak but funny SF plot and a very bad supporting soundtrack, except maybe for the rock song at the end of the film, lots of bare breasts and so bad that it becomes funny again.
