"Jan discovers he was adopted as a child."

When Jan, in his thirties, suddenly discovers that he has been adopted, he immediately starts a search for his biological parents. His mother, a former cabaret singer, is not hard to find. Together, the two take a taxi to a small town in Portugal in search of his father. On arrival, the mother refuses to search any longer and locks herself in the hotel room. While Jan continues to search, he meets Constanca and falls in love with her...
