Der Zerbrochene Krug plot
Adam is an eternally drunk judge in a small Dutch village. When he accidentally ends up drunk in Eve Rull's room one night, he is caught by her lover. In the ensuing fight, he loses his right wig and breaks an antique pitcher. He opens the court the other day without a wig, but manages to hide what happened that night. Then Eve's mother storms into the courtroom. She demands that Adam find out the identity of the unknown intruder who broke her precious jar.
