Der Gasmann plot

Hermann is a 'gas man'. He has to visit the houses of people who have not paid their gas bills. When he comes to a tailor who is about to go bankrupt, Hermann pays the tailor's bill. One evening he wants to spend his money. He takes the tram and goes to West Berlin. At home he tells as an excuse that he has a new side job (writing addresses on envelopes) in West Berlin. He now goes there every night. When Erika looks in his bag one evening, she sees all sorts of work-worthy objects, such as a lady's glove, a matchbox from a bar and chocolates...
