Early in the morning, in the town of Bobigny, near a clandestine gambling den, the lifeless body of Constance Chaligny, wife of the influential Jean-Eric Chaligny, France's main employer, is found in the midst of an extremely tense social situation that France has been under the spell for several weeks. That morning, two very opposite worlds will intersect: Ousmane Diakhaté, agent of Bobigny's financial section, and François Monge, captain of the famous judicial police of Paris. Their investigation takes them from one side of Paris and its employers' organization to the other in the suburbs of Bobigny and its clandestine business. They take turns going to the other side of the ring road.
