This film is for a specific audience, namely fans of Hallmark romance and Christmas. So don't start it if you're not drawn to that genre. It's the film version of a station novel... So be warned... Don't complain if you've read this and watched it anyway.

I like this one. Even a bit better than the average Hallmark.

Beautiful Christmas atmosphere and lovely shots of a Champagne estate in the winter. The film also begins with Paris at Christmas. I've experienced that in real life, and it takes me back to that time...

The supporting characters are caricatural and overly funny, but I think they're successful. I still laughed several times. They involve the typical hyperactive gay character and a blonde, super-negative, dry German. So, pure caricature, but acceptable given that it's humorous and not meant to be stigmatizing or offensive.

The story itself is a cliché love story with Christmas as the backdrop. So, it's totally my genre in the run-up to the holidays, when I try to watch several Christmas movies a week.

This one for me 4*

A typical Christmas movie, nothing surprising or particularly special, but this one scores quite well on two counts, so I can give it a passing grade. The film is atmospheric, and the beautifully lit Paris occasionally comes across beautifully, as do the vineyards in the Champagne region. And the central couple is pretty good, especially the charming Kelly. 3.0*.

It started off cringe, then it got a little crazy, but ultimately it was really beautiful.
