Sam (Michael Angarano) is a perennial teenager who stumbles through his twenties with overconfidence and stubbornly clings to his naive notions of love and romance that he has immortalized in a series of unpublished children's books. He falls in love with Zoe (Uma Thurman), a 30-year-old publisher who is about to marry Whit (Lee Pace), an important documentary filmmaker.
