Atouk and Lar, form their own tribe of cavemen. This new tribe includes a blind man, a gay couple, a dwarf, and other out-of-bounds cavemen. Atouk longs for Lana, Tonda's beautiful girlfriend, the leader who previously threw him from his tribe.

This is one of those movies that you shouldn't watch too often, although I'm glad I have it in my collection. It's one of those movies that you just have to watch with your brain switched off, otherwise you won't find it funny. The monsters and special effects are laughably bad, but I guess that was the intention. The scene with the dinosaur egg is especially funny.

Film that is still quite digestible for half an hour. Some very lame jokes that deserve a laugh, but it quickly becomes apparent that the film does not have much more to offer. Intentionally silly can be quite fun, but that will not get you 90 minutes of course.
The brackish effects certainly do not miss their effect in the beginning. Since this is a full-blooded comedy, the film gets away with it, but after a while it gets a bit boring, especially when certain things are not only funny and clumsy, but just plain bad.
A bit the same with the humor. Quite funny at first, but there is not much variation and when after a while the story (if there really is one) takes over, the level of the film drops very quickly.
Oh well, for once it's not a complete disaster and the first half hour is considerably more fun, but over 90 minutes it's still a film that drags quite a bit and isn't funny enough to be a comedy.

This is a really corny movie with really bad dinos even for that time. The bad stop motion fits the corny atmosphere perfectly. There are so many funny ideas and scenes in it. Ringo does a great job as the antihero, a man who always has the right action at the right time when danger threatens. He gets respect and hatred from his antagonist the heavily bearded brute.
The cackling dino, the scene with the egg is a highlight. There is even a prehistoric a team scene haha. Look, there is little money and the cast does not act great. But it is a film made with love and fun.
All in all, a strange, cheesy and absurdist slapstick.
