Bride by Mistake plot
Norah Hunter is very wealthy. She owns her own shipyard and she can rely on her secretary Sylvia Lockwood as her double for all kinds of, usually tricky, chores. But Sylvia is now married and she wants to leave for Washington with her new husband. Meanwhile, Norah has dumped her fiancé. Norah doesn't want men to want her just for her money. She therefore invites several officers to her house for tea and she has managed to convince Sylvia that they can switch roles. Norah thinks she's found the right man in army pilot Captain Anthony Travis, but she doesn't know that Travis is only interested in Silvia for her wealth. Meanwhile, Norah waits to see if Travis will choose her over Silvia, who he thinks is rich.
