After an accident, 60-year-old Pierre is bedridden with his leg in plaster. He is a misanthrope who loves silence and solitude while the world now comes to his bedside. Powerless, he undergoes the daily comings and goings of doctors, nurses and other hospital staff, then that of his family, including his brother Hervé. All these unexpected encounters cause Pierre to look at things differently. And against all odds, his hospital stay becomes something of a rebirth...
