In the early 1960s, the shy Hans Günther lives in a small town in the Rhineland. He plays Tipp Kick at the highest level, a table football game with metal painted figures. On his first date with the lovely photographer Marion, Hans' favorite Tipp Kicker, number ten, falls into a bath of developing fluid. He grows into a sturdy oversized creature, which shakes Hans's life thoroughly and will go far. The film reveals the secret behind the football player with the most precise pass ever: the blond and long-haired Günther Netzer.
