Somehow 1.5hrs Ali G is just too much. In his TV series I can still laugh at half an hour of uncomplicated, useless underpants fun. But then it has also been nice, it just doesn't stay interesting for 1.5 hours. It was nice that Borat "the man from Kazakhstan" was brought onto the stage for a while. What a hero

“Talk to the hand, 'cos the face ain't listening.”

Revisited after a very long time and it all remains entertaining with many successful jokes. Of course you get older so the jokes could have been a bit childish but I caught myself watching the ridiculous adventures of Ali G and his friends with a big smile again. Sacha Baron Cohen has played many different characters but he remains Ali G for me (although Borat is also great). Very funny to see Martin Freeman and Charles Dance in supporting roles. Two great actors who fortunately don't take themselves too seriously here and aren't afraid to make a fool of themselves. Rhona Mitra is still beautiful. Of course there are less successful jokes in it and the story is negligible, but that's not what this is about. You watch Ali G if you feel like a light-hearted and fun film that you can laugh about with a beer. And in my case also a little bit of nostalgia.

Revisited after a very long time and maybe it's because I've gotten older, but it used to be just a bit funnier. Nevertheless, I still had a good time.

I've never really seen the series, maybe some fragments so I can't compare. Ali G is an incredibly banal character who never misses an opportunity to ridicule many. Rappers, politicians, women... not a minute goes by without another joke being fired. Unfortunately, there are many that are a bit on the bland side.

On the positive side, it all looks very easy. The pace is fast, the characters fun with a sexy Mitra and the music is nicely present. Luckily it doesn't take too long either.
