"It's about to become... a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad road trip."
Eleven-year-old Alexander Garcia is convinced he is the unluckiest person in the world. His mother Val is a travel writer who wants to take the family on a dream vacation to Mexico City. She comes up with a plan to travel in a luxury camper, but Alexander is certain it will end in disaster. When the family discovers that an ancient and cursed statue is to blame for all the bad luck they have on the road, they must work together to return it to its place of origin.

Just before Alexander Garcia [Thom Nemer] sets off on a family trip to Mexico City with his father [Jesse Garcia], mother [Eva Longoria], sister [Paulina Chávez] and grandmother [Rose Portillo], he discovers a relic that he believes explains his bad luck. And during the journey full of inconveniences and bad luck, the relic mysteriously travels with them! The Garcias are unable to get rid of the thing, so what now? The prologue contains a brief preview consisting of a montage of screaming moments. So you know what you're getting into, and the clumsy slapstick and hopeless overacting of the cast only make it worse. The only saving grace comes from Rose Portillo and Cheech Marin as the grandparents, but otherwise it's barely noticeable.
