A Slave of Fashion plot
Katherine Emerson, a young woman from the countryside, is on a train to New York City when it crashes. She comes into possession of the wallet of one of the victims, the mistress of a wealthy bachelor. She is standing in for the deceased woman in the bachelor's home, who is in Europe. An unexpected visit from her family forces her to pose as the wealthy bachelor's wife.
