Seen at the Go Short festival as an Oscar nomination. Familiar faces. Typically the kind of film (or short film) that starts lighthearted and humorous, but gradually becomes (too) dramatic and resorts to clichés. And that is a shame.
The British humor and approach are fine. We have seen the 'unlikely friendship' theme quite often, though. The moral ultimately comes across rather heavily, and tears are even shed. The overacting of the characters (especially the grandson) is too much for me. It would have been more successful if the comedic approach had been carried through.
