The Story of Gilbert and Sullivan plot

WS Gilbert was a lawyer turned comic writer and Arthur Sullivan a classical composer who converted to light music against his will. Between 1871 and 1896 he wrote fourteen operettas, to great acclaim from the public. This is the story of the sometimes awkward collaboration between these two people. The film explores the tensions arising from Sullivan's continued ambition to write serious classical music.
