Paterno plot
"The greater the legend, the harder the fall."
Tells the story of Joe Paterno who coached the Pennsylvania State University football team for over 40 years and went down in history with his victories. His image is badly damaged when journalist Sara Ganim reveals that young players are being sexually abused. Paterno would be said to be aware of the abuses. His reputation is forever tarnished.

Excellent film about the sudden end of a decades-long and highly successful career of a football coach. A true story in which the coach fails in his moral duty to report child abuse to the proper authorities. The film shows how the family dealt with this behind closed doors. Al Pacino is excellent as always.
Quite a topical film, given the whole situation surrounding The Voice and Ajax at the moment.

Mediocre.
There is nothing to criticize regarding the content. The case is harrowing and the figures involved are vile. The film is a clear account of that case. However, it is not cinematically interesting, which is no surprise in itself with Barry Levinson at the helm. It looks downright dull and grey, which stands in the way of a higher score. Al Pacino and Riley Keough in the lead roles are precise.
