November 1963 plot
Before John F. Kennedy's election in 1960, his father, Joe Kennedy, a former bootlegger during Prohibition, asked Chicago mob boss Sam Giancana and his gang for a favor: destroy ballot boxes to secure the younger Kennedy's victory. However, during JFK's presidency, the national crime syndicate came under fire from newly appointed Attorney General Bobby Kennedy, resulting in several convictions. The Mafia retaliated against this betrayal with the ultimate revenge: the assassination of the 35th President of the United States on November 22, 1963, and the subsequent cover-up.
