Myortvyy Dom plot

Aleksandr Petrovich Goryanchikov has been sent to Siberia for ten years as punishment for the murder of his wife. Life is hard for him in the penal camp, especially because he comes from the upper middle classes and the other prisoners are mainly farm workers. Slowly, however, Aleksandr comes to terms with his situation and his fellow prisoners.
