Hamsun plot
"They were worshipped as national saints. Hated as traitors. Their marriage spanned from the worst kind of betrayal to the greatest love..."
The writer Knut Hamsun was regarded in Norway as one of the greatest Norwegians of the 20th century. However, on the eve of World War II, he shocked his compatriots by publicly siding with the Germans. His wife made it even more colorful by going to teach in Germany. After the war, they were both branded traitors. This film attempts to answer what on earth possessed the Hamsuns to choose the Germans.
