Chi no Shio Yamamuro Gunpei Haha no Negai plot

Gunpei Yamamuro (Ryû Morioka) was born in 1972 into a poor farming family. He was adopted at a young age because his family was so poor. At the age of 15, he left his foster parents and moved to Tokyo to study. There he learned about the spirit of love in Christianity after which he went to Kyoto to enroll in the Doshisha Seminary. Gunpei worked with the Salvation Army and becomes the first Japanese officer of the Salvation Army.
