Sandy Wang and SpongeBob watch in disbelief as their favorite town of Bikini Bottom is scooped out of the ocean. The culprit is the head of a sinister, mysterious company. And yet I didn't find this one as bad as the numbers would have you believe. Okay, the humor is too forced, which makes it lose its power, and the 'bad guys' are not nice actors / actresses, but otherwise I got through the short running time just fine. In any case, it doesn't surpass the first SpongeBob movie, which is head and shoulders above the rest in terms of humor, storyline, music, and double entendre jokes.

Another film from the famous sponge. Not such a long playing time, so the film was not boring. Unfortunately, the story itself was a bit less interesting. Fortunately, it was not a hyperkinetic film, which was also a relief.
The cast seemed stupid, but of course the film is for a young audience, so I'll pass.
I thought it was one of the weaker parts.

In this spin-off of SpongeBob SquarePants, flying squirrel and scientist Sandy Cheeks [Carolyn Lawrence] and Spongebob [Tom Kenny] travel to Galveston, Texas after Bikini Bottom is vacuumed up on behalf of Sue Nahmee [Wanda Sykes] on behalf of Sandy's former employer BOOTS. Earplugs or low volume come in very handy in the chaotic opening that mainly features a lot of (often unnecessary) screaming. The combination of animation and live action (the 'villains' are people) is also not entirely successful and there is hardly any plot. In the world of SpongeBob, that has never been a major problem, so fans of the series will be able to laugh here and there at the silly visual gags in this extremely tiring animated film.
