Saving Bikini Bottom: The Sandy Cheeks Movie plot

Sandy Wang and SpongeBob watch in disbelief as their favorite town of Bikini Bottom is scooped out of the ocean. The culprit is the head of a sinister, mysterious company. Now Sandy and SpongeBob must embark on an epic quest to find Sandy's home state of Texas. Their mission is to enlist Sandy's family so they can save Patrick, Squidward, Mr. Krabs and the rest before it's too late.

En toch vond ik deze niet zo slecht als dat de cijfers doen laten geloven. Ok, de humor is té geforceerd, waardoor het zijn kracht verliest, en de 'bad guys' zijn geen leuke acteurs / actrices, maar voor de rest kwam ik prima door de korte speelduur heen. Het overtreft in ieder geval niet de eerste SpongeBob-film, die hier met kop en schouders bovenuit steekt qua humor, verhaallijn, muziek, en dubbelzinnige grapjes.

And yet I didn't find this one as bad as the numbers would have you believe. Okay, the humor is too forced, which makes it lose its power, and the 'bad guys' are not nice actors / actresses, but otherwise I got through the short running time just fine. In any case, it doesn't surpass the first SpongeBob movie, which is head and shoulders above the rest in terms of humor, storyline, music, and double entendre jokes.
