Anju to Zushiômaru plot
After their father has problems with local soldiers, Anju and Zushio are forced to flee. They are captured and sold as slaves. When their mother dies, they are sold to Sansho the Bailiff, an evil man who exposes them to horrific practices. When Anju falls into a pond, she turns into a swan. Zushio manages to escape and is adopted by a nobleman. When he is an adult, he wants to fight the slave driver and free all the slaves.
