When Soviet troops freed Ivan from the prison where he was being held by the Nazis, he was charged with high treason and faced many years of imprisonment in prison camps in Siberia. Ivan didn't want to die behind barbed wire or wait for amnesty. When he got the chance, he escaped from the camp. He was heavily hunted, as if he were the most wanted criminal, and there was no place for him in the USSR. He will eventually end up as an Indian chief. Based on the historical events of Ivan Datsenko.
