Nice fantasy film with a good role of Cage, who is also cut for this role .

A film where you feel comfortable right away, good CGI and effects and the acting of the players is more than adequate.

Nice story that really fits with such a film ..... recommended for those who love this genre.

Turteltaub.

I haven't seen much work from this director yet, but my guess is that he mainly plays with effects. Many of his films seem to focus mainly on action with a lot of money. This film is no exception, but it manages to tackle it just a bit better than you might think. Turteltaub knows well what to do.

And that is a successful, clever action. A story is shown to us by means of some special effects and magical ideas. Sometimes that same story makes some special choices, such as the casting. You wouldn't think Baruchel was a good choice for this role. And you're right, because it doesn't fit. Cage can also be called boring as a powerful wizard and why Bellucci is still acting at all is a complete mystery to me.

Fortunately, the director knows how to solve things a bit better. Certainly the second half of the film is in the context of some strong images. Perhaps not in terms of story, because it always remains on the safe side, but in terms of design. Certainly the chase through the city and the most spectacular finale ensure that the film is no problem to enjoy.

Furthermore, there is also a nice pace and the action alternates nicely with the regular images. I could also see the fun of supporting roles such as Kebbell's. Of course, these films have some narrative problems, but it shouldn't spoil the fun. Smooth directing and beautiful effects ensure that this imaginative film that does not last too long is never a problem to get through. Great entertainment.
