The Prince and the Pauper plot
Tom Canty is a poor English boy who bears a great outward resemblance to Prince Edward, son of King Henry VIII. The boys decide to change clothes as a joke, but when a combination of circumstances separates them, the joke spirals out of control and they run into the problems of each other's lives.
