The Little Pirate plot
Struggling with financial difficulties, businessman John Baird considers liquidating the bonds held in trust for his young daughter Margery. Virginia Baird, not understanding her husband's desperation, refuses his request and, hearing his lawyer advise him to use the bonds without consulting her, decides to place them in the hands of George Drake, an old friend. However, Drake hijacks the securities and their disappearance leads to the break-up of the Bairds' marriage, causing Virginia to leave home. In an attempt to console her father, Margery sets out on her pony to bring her mother home.
