Singapore plot
"She was back with him... as a stranger"
After World War II, Matt Gordon returns to Singapore to retrieve a fortune in smuggled pearls. Arriving in Singapore, Matt recalls the pre-war moments spent with his attractive fiancée Linda and her disappearance during a Japanese attack. Linda, however, reappears; she has amnesia and is now married to the wealthy planter Van Leyden. Meanwhile, the shady Mauribus, who wants Matt's pearls, is after him.

Singapore is a great mix between a small dose of crime and a good dose of romance between Macmurray and Gardner.
I always think Macmurray performs better when there is some humor woven into his character, that is lacking here but he does it properly, Gardner is again a sight to see, their romance is a bit superficial but sufficient for the story.
A successful mix between crime and romance and a bit of mystery.
