What a worthless film this, I had a hard time watching it, this film really misses everything that can make a film good; no good actors, no good story, no humor and also no nice special effects... 1,5* at most.

The children's classic.

I've seen the movie before, but didn't remember much about it. Movies like this might have worked better as a kid. If you look at it that way, the film has quite a few elements that can work. For example, it is ideally chosen to give a film like this a theme park as a background.

The setting also knows how to help, although Gosnell rarely really portrays it properly. We do get some set pieces, but the pleasure that such a location should bring is not really felt. A pity, because films like Casper deal with this much better. In Scooby-Doo, they don't seem to quite get the sense of conveying nostalgia.

The acting is difficult to judge. Everyone is good in their roles. Especially Lillard fits in these kinds of figures, but it mainly depends on whether you can appreciate them as a viewer. They are busy, noisy figures who mainly frolic and scream. You must love that. For me personally, too many jokes are dead, but the support for cartoon characters is strong and knows how to work.

In the end, it's pretty smooth entertainment, but dated. Both in terms of effects and disclosure, the film is bland. Other than that, it's going pretty well. Gosnell knows what she likes as a director and that seems to be making children's films with a slightly larger background. Nothing wrong with that, but the film dies too often in the comedy field to be repeatedly enjoyable.

Scooby-Doo is a double film, because it is aimed at a young audience with sometimes quite flat humor. But at the same time it is wonderfully colorful with a love for comics and the original animated series. I never really grew up with animation, so I don't really have that fan love with me. The cast is quite well chosen, at least as far as the team itself is concerned. The enemy isn't really good and maybe it could have been a little more mature and detective. Because even though the team is fun to follow, it remains a children's film that comes across as quite bland.
