Mayday at 40,000 Feet! plot

"A crippled plane. A crazed convict..."

Los Angeles Flight 602 to Chicago picks up dangerous mobster Greco during a stopover in Salt Lake City. During the flight, he is guarded by Inspector Riese who suffers a stroke during the flight. Greco eagerly takes advantage of that to overpower him and grab his weapon. He darts around and hits pilot Pete Douglas and Susan Mackenzie, a friend of copilot Stan Burkhart. The hydraulic system of the aircraft also has to suffer. Stan Burkhart faces the impossible task of landing the plane safely.
