Master of Dragonard Hill plot

"Forbidden passions that could only be teamed by the dreaded Dragonard."

While playing cards at Chez Naomi, Captain Geoffrey Shanks loses all his possessions to Governor Warburton. Shanks, however, accuses his opponent of foul play and must be restrained. When the dust clears, Naomi asks Calavar to escort the governor to his home. Upon arrival, Calabar is seduced by Arabella, the governor's daughter. When they are disturbed by the governor, Arabella screams and Calabar flees through the window. The governor falls dead to the ground with a knife in his back. Newly elected governor Shanks wants to unjustly imprison and punish the fugitive Calabar. Meanwhile, Calabar tries to reach Dragonard Hill where he thinks he will find a safe haven.
