Kriemhilde wants revenge for the death of her husband Siegfried. The perpetrator is her half-brother, but her real brother is too cowardly to do anything about it. So she organizes her own revenge campaign. At a fancy wedding, she takes the guests hostage until they kill her half-brother (also one of the guests). Also helpful is that Kriemhilde has Siegfried's magic sword with her.
