The Rig plot
"Some things shouldn't be disturbed."
When a hurricane rages outside, a small but experienced crew on an oil rig gears up to weather the storm. Isolated on the oil rig, the peace among the crew is quickly over when one of them goes missing and a search turns up nothing. They learn that a deadly creature is attacking the crew and eliminating them one by one. Surrounded by a raging sea, with no means of communication and no way out of the platform, the roughnecks try to survive the stormy night with an unrelenting force of death chasing them.

The film starts off quite nicely before slowly but surely succumbing to the creatures, both literally and figuratively.
Sad story wasn't that bad.

After reading a few messages, I thought it wasn't that bad.
I know more films that are many times worse than this one.
The story is nice and the acting was decent.
Only the poster is wrong.

After The Rig, director Peter Atencio took a completely different path when it comes to genres, and the film's progression makes it clear why. This idea, which fundamentally has some potential, generates little suspense. Unfortunately, the filmmakers mainly resort to ugly effects, uninteresting banter between characters, and a visually cluttered film. Only a few strikingly graphic murders make a definite impression; otherwise, many filmgoers will be prepared for subpar horror after the hazy opening scene.
