The Fallen plot
"In war the fallen are all heroes"
Film about German, Italian and American soldiers stationed in Northern Italy during the last weeks of the Second World War. On one side, a group of American soldiers delivers ammunition to the front line, a trip that turns into utter hell. The chance of success of the mission becomes smaller and smaller as the setbacks get bigger and bigger. On the other side, we see a doomed German unit and their casual Italian partners trying to maintain morale and discipline in the face of almost certain defeat. The Italians are divided among themselves, because there are still fascist soldiers, just as there are supporters of communism, which gradually leads to a fight of brother against brother, or an outright civil war.
