In India, a family is massacred by the British. Kasim Khan, the leader of the tribe, has lost his wife and child in the action and wants revenge. The truth is that the British know nothing about it, but that a rival tribe carried out the action in the uniform of the British. The daughter of a British major tries to convince Khan that the British are not his enemies.
