Shôwa Zankyô-den: Karajishi Botan plot

Hidejiro Hanada is an itinerant Yakuza with a 'karashi botan', a tattoo of a Chinese lion with a peony. He owed the Soda family clan something and repays it by killing the boss of the rival Sakaki clan. He has to go to jail for it and there he befriends the son of the murdered man, and even goes to work for him. When the Soda clan attacks the Sakaki clan and cheats Hidejiro, he sets out with his sword in hand in search of revenge.
