Rose of the Rancho plot
"THE MYSTERY BANDIT...A Drama of Old Mexico"
The year is 1852. Mexico has recently renounced California, which has been admitted to the Union by the United States. Most of California's landowners were descendants of "Dons," who had colonized it a hundred years earlier. Their property deeds bear the signature and stamp of the long-dead Spanish king. But due to a hole in the law, the title 'Don' cannot be recognized and this opens the door for organized land robberies. One of those gangs is led by Joe Kincaid, who has an excellent legitimate excuse for looting and theft. With the help of federal undercover agent Jim Kearney and vigilantes, the masked and male-disguised Rosita Castro, the daughter of Don Pasqual Castro, fights the tyranny of the outlaws.
