Harlan Regis works in the homicide unit in Washington. Murder and manslaughter are his daily fare. Then he's asked to investigate a murder case at the White House. He is confronted by secret agents who are above the law, documents that disappear just like that and officials who keep an eye on him. Nina is tasked with making the case run smoothly. When she and Regis find out that there is a lot at stake, she decides to help him.

Weak film with a mediocre lead role by Snipes and Lane is also only a little off. The story is far-fetched, but it is mainly the mediocre characters and the forced structure that kill the film. The setting is quite nice and Alda is a good actor, but this is not enough to save the film.

A solid thriller about a murder in the White House. The how and what remains unclear for quite a while, which keeps you captivated. Some reasonable action scenes and enough tension. Not equally credible everywhere of course, but nevertheless Murder at 1600 is entertaining enough.

Decent movie with a fair amount of suspense. A murder has been committed in the White House and Snipes and Lane (after some bickering) decide to work together to find the culprit. The film doesn't make it harder than it is and I appreciate that.
The whole plot behind the murder also turns out to be simple and is actually clear from the start. Snipes and Lane are nice, but can't really excel because of the average script. The real tension is missing and the ending is a bit rushed. The perpetrator is very quickly and easily eliminated. I wasn't on the edge of my seat, but Murder at 1600 is definitely solid.
