A very natural adventure in which Jean-Claude Van Damme as a former boxer is forced to join the army. He makes some friends here and unfortunately also has to give them up. The purpose of all this actually remained unclear to me and it seemed as if the commanders did not really have a clear mission in mind. Despite the fact that killed in action from both sides came into view, it soon became clear that the legion had no chance in the remote castle so I didn't think it was really exciting. A bit of a shame also that our hero is the only one who survives without broken bones or mutilations. There is a nice atmosphere in it and it is skillfully portrayed.

It looks like today is Jean-Claude Van Damme day at RTL 7 because this is already the second film that will be broadcast today with him in the lead role. This is a totally different film than the first one that is broadcast ("Bloodsport"), but this one also looked quite nice. It is a real Adventure / Action film and the images of North Africa looked quite nice. The story is certainly not high-quality (nor should you expect with Jean-Claude Van Damme in the lead role) but it is therefore easy to follow. Although there are not really many fight scenes (which actually belongs to Jean-Claude Van Damme) this is more than compensated with shooting action. The film is not very long and looks good. Jean-Claude Van Damme did a pretty good job in this movie, but Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (pronounce it without choking ) trumps him anyway. Just great entertainment on a Saturday night.

there are (to my knowledge) not many movies about the alien legion.

while for action films it should certainly appeal to the imagination.

new name, new beginnings, hard training, and then being sent to war zones...that sounds like the basis of a good movie.

this one didn't disappoint.and isn't your run of the mill damme movie, to a certain extent.

I especially liked the desert scene.
