Steve Tuttle (Buck Jones) is quite a sloth by nature. One day he takes on the responsibility of raising a girl who no longer has a father. That causes a scandal in the small town where he lives. When he returns from the First World War many years later, the girl has grown into a young woman and he discovers that he has fallen in love with her.
