Paul and Lambert are by no means bad. But the film just has elements that are very disturbing; the unnecessary "motorcycle gang", too cheap decoration of some scenes, forced (forced accelerated) shots. Just a lot of little things that make him that little bit less. 2.0 *

Highlander, a film with an A-idea, but in a B-jacket. Still, I quite enjoy every part. The acting is nice and the music very strong at times. The different locations in the different periods are also filmed quite nicely. Nice is the collaboration between Connor and Duncan. The villain is well filled in by Bruce Payne. He really has a head to shoot at and that makes him perfect for movies like this one.

Of course, the lightning bolts after a kill are still laughable. Would love it if Highlander in a current jacket is finely redone.

The television series has completely passed me by, so that Adrian Paul is a new and refreshing appearance for me here, and his playing is actually the main asset of this film, along with Bruce Payne's (nice nasty head), so that their final fight is also fun to watch. Other than that, however, I mainly see ugly photography, unclear editing, an abundance of close-ups, clumsy slo-mo, bad fight scenes, silly mopeds, bad acting and bad FX. The decor and music keep the film going a bit, but other than that I was mostly happy while watching that Christopher Lambert has finally died – at least I don't have to listen to that bizarre diction of his anymore (how he pronounces the word "now" as "neauw", incredibly annoying).
