Extremely boring, obscure film that was made to make GoGo music, popular in Washington DC, a national phenomenon. However, the film was very poorly received.... And with good reason. Released on DVD in the Netherlands with the sensational title Raped in the Ghetto (while the actual rape is only a small part of the final plot).
The GoGo music is quite nice but is started completely out of place. I don't need to hear that in the run-up to a rape. Furthermore, the crime plot always feels miles away from the GoGo plot. Feels like 2 different films, making it a disturbing and boring whole. Anyone who expects a hard, raw action film should skip this one.
With Robert DoQui and Harris Yulin, among others, you have some characteristic 80's characters, but that is one of the few positive things about this film.
