Ever seen on video (yes, those things with cassettes) Now bought for 50 cents at a flea market. Nice to see you again.

The film really has a 90s feel to it. Modern at the time, but now completely old-fashioned.

The story is exciting and well presented. You could kind of make a 'remake' of it. Other than that, it's nothing more than an action movie.

Delicious! Still can't catch Stuart in a slip. What a nice uncompromising way this guy could make genre films. Whether it was horror (mainly of course) or science fiction, he always knew how to bend it. The influences here are (over) obvious, but as always it is a real Gordon flick. His films move, there is not an ounce of superfluous fat in them, are very direct (and violent) and lack logic; if it works, then it works. Moreover, he is very strong in succinctly setting up a universe and Fortress is his pinnacle in that area. And what names; Lambert, Smith, Combs and Kilpatrick... an ensemble that you can do something with. Clumsy 90's sci-fi a la Gordon; to enjoy.

Thought this was really cool as a teenager, watched it again and still entertaining sci-fi prison film and don't whine about outdated special effects nzo, are just nice for that time.
