Deep Core plot

When drilling for oil something goes terribly wrong and a natural disaster occurs. Geologists are puzzled. The only conclusion they can draw is that an earlier warning from geologist Brian Gordon has come true. The government has no choice but to give him full authority over a rescue of Earth.
